Ceetrus Portugal, the owner and manager of the Alegro Alfragide Shopping Center, is a finalist at the Solal Marketing Awards 2019, organized by the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), in the “Emerging Technology” category.
Known as the shopping centres’ Oscars, the competition, awards the best achievements in the global retail industry. Alegro Alfragide is nominated for its QR Code payment solution, developed in partnership with SIBS, the Portuguese interbank network. It became the first retail space in Portugal to offer consumers the possibility to pay with their phones by using the MB WAY app to scan a QR code displayed at the POS. Simple and easy.
“This finalist nomination validates and acknowledges the path that Ceetrus Portugal is paving by investing in innovation, to add value to the customer experience. We are glad this nomination, as well as last year’s award for Digital Kiosks at Alegro Alfragide, represents a clear indicator that we listen to our customers and can work with partners, such as SIBS, to answer the demand of new types of consumption. We will keep venturing in innovation, particularly Digital Innovation - so that we can make our spaces more digital, smart and sustainable.” says Filomena Conceição, Marketing, Innovation and Digital Director at Ceetrus.
