Ceetrus and the Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal (IPS) signed a collaboration protocol whose main goal is to promote cultural, social, academic, technical and scientific initiatives in areas of interest to both entities and that bring added value to the local community.

Generally speaking, this protocol will integrate cooperation initiatives in the following areas: dissemination actions and the development and support of science, technology and culture; development of studies and projects; providing and promotion of spaces; and implementation of various initiatives to support the development of students’ skills to encourage integration in active life.

For Mário Costa, CEO of Ceetrus, “this protocol fits perfectly into the vision of our company, whose purpose is to create an ecosystem of living spaces and multipurpose where the lives of customers becomes more special and emotional ties are created. We intend to value in our shopping centers the concept “meeting territory needs”, generating proximity to the public and / or private entities that represent and occupy the territory where they are inserted”.

This partnership establishes, among other benefits, the opportunity for curricular internships by the students of the Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal in several areas of the corporate structure of Ceetrus, allowing also the sharing of knowledge of Ceetrus employees with the students of this institution.

For the President of the Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal, Pedro Dominguinhos, “this partnership consolidates the commitment of IPS to create value for the region, creating an excellent opportunity to disseminate the knowledge that is produced in the various schools, at the same time that we approach the citizens, through the development of diverse activities in the various places managed by Ceetrus”.

The Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal has 5 universities in Setúbal and Barreiro and counts on a universe of about 5 thousand students, coming from all over the country. The area of influence of the IPS is the district of Setúbal and due to its activities reaches Évora, Ponte de Sôr and Lisbon.
